you are a teacher my brother. your words and your passion will no doubt inspire those that yes are blinded but are not bad people, the smoke screen that exists is man made it is enforced. you cannot control people anymore with a bludgen but instead only with their thoughts. Governments have no time for democracy any more, we are cattle we exist only to serve. Services that many except, for their own selfishness. Life is individual and individuals can do what they want with it i.e. turning blind eyes to global suffering and onto football games. people always say, i am one man, what can i possibly change. Where one man goes, others follow. what controls is far more fragile than people think and if changed will help everybody enjoy a btter life. and i agree with you demonstration, one of the fundamental principles of democray is ineffective. look at the demonstrations against invading iraq and our inaction in darfur and palestine. Ghandi, understood that you must fight and you must fight but not through agression, through education, ideological unification, stryking. this world cannot work without its people but its people cannot work without their minds. don't let yourself be fooled and educate those that are with love and compassion. peace to you brother. Very passionate and heartfelt poem-essay. Is love our mission? I don't know. But it seems to me that a world in which everybody tries to empathize and find common ground rather than fighting ground just might make this a more pleasant place to live our alloted years. I'm not sure we can expect all conflict to end, since conflict and suffering seem to be part of this thing called life. But we can at least try.
