Coming Back Poem by Sankhajit Bhattacharjee

Coming Back

After completing my studies in US,
I came back to him-
a bee always comes to a flower in search of nectar
and I wanted to collect spectra of love from him.

But after getting his degree from UK,
he settled there forgetting all about me-
the flower was plucked by an unknown hand of vanity.

He started a new life with a new partner
but his love was not true:
a smell of naked business,
a chaos of dissatisfied lust,
an untidiness of manhood...
spoiled the game of heart.

I left the treacherer,
remained unmarried forever
as I could not love any other man-
sea breeze never carries dust unlike land breeze
as sea takes the warmth of sun
but land is full of dust over its surface.
