Comfort (Part 2) Poem by Kingsley Egbukole

Comfort (Part 2)

Though the pains so great to bear might be
Mourn not to excess
For those that breathe are more valued
Than they that breathe not
And death is deaf to sorrow
The bereaved receive no compensation

So wipe your tears dry
Scrub your face to shine
Pick your courage from the dust again
The "gone" is history

Let the memories slide
The abyss of your heart
Cast off your black apparel
Put on the warrior amour
For the battle ahead is greater
It requires not men that mourn

Courage
courage
My brother in mourn.

Words of consolation to the bereaved. Life must go on, you must move on. 'Cast off the black apparel, put on the warrior armour. For the battle ahead is greater, it requires not men that mourn'. Beautifully crafted
