Comfort (Part 1) Poem by Kingsley Egbukole

Comfort (Part 1)

To my brother in mourn
How long you mourn
Your sorrow my heart pierce
Yet not a thing I can alter
To wipe the tears of distress
And restore again the smile

To my brother in mourn
How long your mourn
How very long your jeremiad
Yet not a thing you can change
To restore again your smile

Oh! How I wish the tears can heal
And restore to us the jewel that is gone
Strength would I merge with your
To weep copious on end
But the cherished crock
Broken has no remedy
Courage, courage, my brother courage.
