This is a romantic piece. It is staged very much like the Ancient Mariner and uses that plot structure well. You have kept well on the right side of sentiment by not becoming too sentimental.

Haunting and tender poem, Lawrence. It's kind of like Longfellow or Whittier at their best. Sweet sentiments about the value of both age and youth.

A touching write; reminds me of the day before my grandmother's death; unfortuantely, she was so doped up from the morphine, she could barely say my name. In her honor, I wrote a short poem entitled 'In Remembrance of Grandmother.'
