And there amidst the leafy green
Emblazoned
on a clear blue sky, a face
Of questions
smiles down..
Why don't you come
and join me?
For here in leafy bough
& light
I laugh away all care
Whilst others trudge
& toil below
In tears & sweat
& strife…
But there you gaze
And here I laugh
Your pensive eyes so wistful..
A hindrance
Is your broken limb
Though care I not
You're earth-bound..
You wander off
I mock & taunt
To draw you to my eyrie..
Your backward glance
Reproachfully
Stills
the lofty tirade.
