Colors Poem by Lindy Jean Kleinhans

Colors

By LJK

I have always seen just black and white
Cerebral damage in an impossible fight
But for the first time, in my lifetime which was made of night
I have seen those colors so beautifully bright

Oh, your blues, with their hues are so satisfactory
It makes for a painting and yet so refractory
Your greens are of mountains, so high one would say
Your soul you'll be finding as you start to pray

Your yellows and reds are sunflowers burning
Such beauty and brightness will leave your heart yearning
But your rainbow of colors provided such bliss
Moments in life I don't want to miss

Magenta's and cyan, so proudly protrude
These are the colors you cannot dilute
When you finally get to see the real deal
The color surprising, is the color Teal.

My favorite color, and so are you
You remind me of shades, your colors are true
You are more than a rainbow, a pallet's delight
Your colors were drawn from the darkest night
