Code Poem by Raimi Babatunde

Code

If you open your chest
Flaunt your body without clothes
One earring on the left
You are Adam and Eve
You are straight

You wear sandals often
That exposes your toes
You can be dubbed as gay
In very advanced settings
It is a code

Why gesticulate with your hands?
And sway like a woman
Your love for skinny trousers is unmatched
You sag and expose your boxers
We already know, "Na dem"

You see a man and lick your lips
And you are a fellow Adam
We know you
You even make eye contact
If you whine, twist and twerk
You have gay tendencies

Continue with tight pants and jeans
To reveal your third leg
So they can size you up
You call it fashion
But know who you are

Stop rubbing your hands
Especially on your chest
Are you a lesbo?
You add nicknames
And attracted to same sex
Was that the design of the manufacturer?

She sends you a nice trail
Buy you expensive gifts
You just became a target
When a guy walks up to you
And she becomes jealous
Run for your life
She is most likely a Lesbo

When you call a fellow Eve "Zaddy"
Thinking you're deceiving us
We understand the code
Street Lesbos do both
Straight lesbos are straight
The male dresses male
Female dresses female

Are you really proud of it?
Is it really worth it?
Stop molesting our youths
Stop destroying our culture
Any freedom not freely expressed
Is a prison of your creation
Receive sense...
