Clowned On Poem by Ghost Legend

Clowned On

I first thought you were cruel
Taking away all I have left of you
Mocking me as you always do
Burying me in how you're loved
By so many, and how much
I'll never know.

But as the hurricane winds blow
Close to my island and my home
Feeling abandoned by the world
There is one thing I've come to know:
You always make me feel alone.

So stay pretty, and stay cool
I bet you look awesome in sunglasses
By the pool
I'll just swirl, and twirl
Down your hole
And ask myself if anything
Was ever real.

I'll have to face life on my own
But that's still better than with someone
Who doesn't feel,
Whose beautiful face
Hides scars which never heal
Someone who can't decide
Whom to be and remain still.

You once said the exact same thing, about how
You make me 'feel alone, every time' then and now
I quickly realized those words weren't from my mouth. Not lies,
But rather said by some other guy
You recently had pulverized.

Oh what am I if not the classic clown?
Whose smile always gets turned upside down?
You dunk me in your slime, then pull me out
I turn,
And notice a line going about a mile
