Clouds (In Memoriam) Poem by Lodigiana Poetess

Clouds (In Memoriam)

Clouds come and go throughout the day
be speckle skies of blue,
and try to form a barrier
that stops us seeing you

We can't look through the swirling fog
a grey nebulous door,
that hides the sunshine that lights up
this face that we adore

No longer see the eyes of green
that twinkled with delight,
and were the lamp within our souls
Irradiating night.

A smile that formed so easily
imprinted on our mind
It's warmth and openness for all
the best you'll ever find

She had a heart that knew no bounds
and arms that opened wide.
She'd take you in without a thought
and keep you safe inside

I'm thinking now and realise,
no matter what we do,
There's nothing on this earth
could ever cloud our thoughts of you

So let the clouds that come unbidden
cross those skies so blue,
‘Cause Mamma nothing could eclipse
Our memories of you!
