Ronald, there is something about the quality of your writing that makes the reader feel your great loss. We mourn with you at the tragic loss of your love. Yet, we somehow remain optimistic about love being eternal. You have done an excellent job in conveying your true feelings. This heart-felt poem is truly worthy of Poem Of The Day! Congratulations, Ronald!

Romantic flow of this poem fills mind with cheerfulness. There is promise to hold hand, to feel and hold soul. Feeling qualities of soul and holding soul's degree in emotion is wise. Closing the door of love now love whisperers more in this interesting poem. Congratulations! This is a nice poem of the day...10

It is nice to be in love but very painful losing it. Keep hope and go on singing as love is in the air and you may get it back. Very nice poem with lots of emotions. Congratulations.

This is a fairly heart-wrenching poem. I must admit though, it took some time for it to sink in fully. I needed to turn off the audio and read it several times, at different intervals. For me the title and the, if I may say, rather clinical reading of the audio created a false emotional distance that meant I needed to apply myself a little more diligently to find its center. The line that most troubled me and begged for resolution was: I want to hold your Soul in my arms once again. Everything else in the poem seemed so grounded and fixed that wanting to hold the soul was too abstract and out of place. And then in a moment it all shifted for me as I came to understand the situation. The narrator didn't actually close the door, the door was closed on him by the death of his lover. He is, in fact, holding her soul in his memory but pines for something more concrete and tactile. The door, I think, is more like a coffin's lid. And all the rest then falls neatly into place with a bittersweet sadness. Touching.

The poem brings to fore the pain of a broken heart after such a wonderful innings of an eternal love witnessed by stars in its heyday. Though, inconsolable, may the memories fill and assuage the feelings created by the void. We are with you, Ronald.
