Clock Watching Poem by Tony Sandy

Clock Watching

I look at my wife
and think about the time..
Tick-tock, tick-tock...
When we first met
and waltzed hand-in-hand,
through life's doorways...
Tick-tock, tick-tock...
Now I stare at the clock
on the mantlepiece,
watching my life tick away
and think nothing at all,
about nothing at all...
Tick-tock, tick-tock...

This is a stub of a longer poem, lost in the mists of time, just like this poetic fancy
