Clean Slate Poem by Kellyn, A Grau

Clean Slate

Some things are said out of frustration
something's are said when the heart is hurting
Words slip out, things you don't mean
however, they are things you cannot take back

To blame me for being so distant
don't be ashamed for me being so cold
I cannot forget the wrong you did
I'm sorry but it still hurts my soul
As days fade away, the memories stay
Dreams fill my head occasionally
Then i star at the sky and let out a sigh
as I think of what could have been

time heals, indeed that is true
I forgive but pretend I don't
I just never forget the things that have occurred
the past, it always seems to haunt me
that's just something I can't get past
but my coldness is due past wronging
trying not to be a push over
Let everyone walk all over me
I won't have it and I will stand tall

I can't take being the nice guy anymore
That never seems to get me anywhere
I'm tired of being so kind
Tired of trying so hard to please others
When I'm all ready content with my self

So I'll wash away the past
Forget all the wrongs
Take a closer look at the soul
and understand who you really are
Forget all past issues, with life let it go

so heres to a fresh start
no more hovering over past wrongs
Time to look ahead and follow faiths path
