City Fool Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

City Fool

Rating: 5.0

I've been treated like this before
You think I didn't notice
The whispers behind my back
And the looks you try to hide
You probably think I am a buffoon
A simpleton
But I know a few things about people
I went to the college of hard knocks
And got a degree in humiliaton
I am a genius when I know I am not taken seriously
You, on the other hand, should go back
To kindergarten
Because you remind of
Those so-called friends I left behind
