Citadel Of Democracy Poem by Ojeikpo Elijah

Citadel Of Democracy

A nation built on hopes and dreams
A beacon of freedom, a shining gleam
A fortress strong, a citadel of light
A symbol of justice, a defender of rights
Amidst the storms of war and strife
It stands tall, a stronghold for life
For out of its walls, a democracy thrives
In which every voice and vote survives
Beneath its dome, laws are made
In chambers where opinions cascade
A harmonious blend of diversity
In this citadel of democracy
Where the pillars of justice stand firm and true
And the scales of equality tip without bias or hue
Where the power lies in the people's hands
In this citadel, democracy expands
From far and wide, they come to see
The home of freedom, the land of the free
A nation that rises from its past
To build a future that will forever last
Oh, citadel of democracy, shining bright
A beacon of hope, a guiding light
May your walls stand strong, and your principles stay
For generations to come, in this land we pray.
