This poem moves from levity to the depths. It moves like a circus itself which is an extravagant lie. The spectacle is a facade, the surface of a turbulence unseen below the glamor and glitz and anthropomorphic antics. This is my impression of what you were trying to convey with the trappings, the sparkly kid's stuff, compared to the tragedies which were unfolding unseen by the audience.
