The saying goes: 'Those that go in circles Shall be known as wheels.' And such it is that we, all knowing, There's a name for it, 'Circular reasoning.' Practiced by leaders in our own time As they're elected to high offices, most sublime. For the rest of us it remains to see What the results of their actions will be. So Stanley Cooper, you've got it right Spinning like a top with all their might They like a dog chasing its tail Know what's best for all of us without fail. Or another analogy from the past Has a snake consuming its own tail to the last. Then 'poof', the snake will of course be gone And all that's left is a bit of skin and bone Evidence that circular reasoning has no good end When it seeks rules to bend.
