Cinna-1 Poem by shuvo chakraborty

Cinna-1

She stared at the curtained lights,
Flickering unsteadily upon upward looking candles
Diminishing fast like holy souls of clay
With steadfast praying heads in midnight Mass weight.
Before her two awkward eyes fixed on plattered heap of grapes
And red faced wine with winter black bread.
Abjured hunger splattered on glimmering loin
East born silk worms playing over the table round.
High bosomed snow on roof top; cold kissed cherries and oranges
Indolent letters of passion long forgiven, morning fresh cream and soft cake,
Haunting splash of snow storm in garden back
And weltering sky with streaming pour.
In all her laziness blanketed upon Christmas spree
Rolled her from corner to corner of dark bed
And aloof He warmed his bottom sleeve
Ere taking her white laced softest palms on New year eve.
