O' yes, Christmas time
is the best time
to be in Goa
as families and friends,
neighbors and strangers
all come together
to celebrate this festivity
with utmost cheerfulness and harmony
as Christmas propels a celebration
so full of devotion and reverence,
so full of love and unity
that only when one is here
in the proximity of Goa and Goans
the joy of Christmas is understandable.

O' yes, Christmas time
is the best time
to be in Goa
as Christmas season is so enjoyable
that no words can express the fervor
as generations respect the tradition
which has been passed on to them
by the Portuguese four hundred years ago
but this celebration lingers on even now
with true dedication to Jesus
as every house gets lighted up
with paper stars atop their rooftops;
and in memory of the birth of Jesus
everyone keeps making cribs in their homes
which look so splendid in the silent night.

O' yes, Christmas is the best time in Goa
as every Goan youth gets so engrossed
with the festivity with true vivacity
that as children run to pick their nitty-gritties,
teenagers rush to find superb clothes,
each one wanting to look their best
as Christmas Day is so special for those
who believe it is at this time of the year
that they have to look their best and svelte.

as so much of gaiety prevails
that people from all over the world
flock to watch and participate,
to dance and revel in the merriment;
and as hearts keep vibrating with happiness
Santa Claus comes walking in the night
to cheer children with surprises
while carols keep enchanting the elderly.

as delicious cakes and traditional savories
get baked which are relished
by the young and the old
all thro' the Christmas season,
while food served with drinks
keep oscillating everyone like palm leaves
that keep swaying along the coast line
with intensity of the wind.

as elation and devotion culminates together
and hovers a unity among families and friends;
Christmas ushers love and peace
enhanced by a child called Jesus
who was born on that Christmas Day
and Goa and Goans always cherish
the birth of Jesus with happiness since centuries
with dance and music, with parties and melodies
in every corner and street,
in every heart and home
with utmost joy and gaiety.
