Christmas Eve Poem by William He

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve
By William He

The chapel in midair at night as linen,
The rough shadows,
Which are dissipating in the fleating and chilly dark.
God and man brought together as an infant,
Enter into four dimensions of space and time,
The sleigh Bells beating the windows once.
Adherents have seen the face of Christ,
Blood stains showing agonies suffered,
He ends mans separation from the God,
He may brighten a heart who at night feels alone.
His inspiration gives light into the darkest corners of the life.
He nailed on the cross and bore his own cross,
Echoing footsteps the bleeding hearts plead,
No place to call their home in the world.
Behind humans is a sky so burlesque,
While the Obelisk starts to shrink,
Holy Spear looks like crying there.

When manger sings an ethereal subconscious Holy Writ,
Blended into mirrored light,
With a sincere desire to light an entire herd of giraffes on fire.
Placed so far away,
A myriad of blurring threads plunging,
upon benevolent Old Covenant now.
Trapped within a memory,
Who offering the forgiveness of sins.
Telling stories of Kiev souls of bleakness and despair,
Painting a picture of reality,
The marks of a crown of thorns.
Wandering in empty dreams,
Everyone is perpetually lost.
No one with no blemish deeds,
Crucifix bobs with the leaves as they change hue,
The reconstructed beside saints is a tree so old.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
'Manger': Jesus was born in a manger, symbolizing humility and identifying with the poor and marginalized. The manger connects Jesus to the lineage of King David, subverting expectations of kingship, and is rich with spiritual symbolism and fulfillment of prophecy. 'Holy Writ': Holy Writ has been used in English as a synonym for Bible for more than a thousand years. The term traces to the Venerable Bede, an 8th-century Anglo-Saxon scholar, historian, and theologian who wrote a history of England in which he dated events from the birth of Christ. " Old Covenant" : The Old Covenant was a conditional or bilateral agreement that God made with the Israelites. The Old Covenant was in effect during the dispensation of the Law. It is " old" in comparison to the New Covenant, promised by Jeremiah the prophet (Jeremiah 31: 31,33) and made effective by the death of the Lord Jesus (Luke 22: 20) . In the Old Covenant, the Israelites were required to obey God and keep the Law, and in return He protected and blessed them (Deuteronomy 30: 15-18; 1 Samuel 12: 14-15) .
