Christianity Introspective Poem by Colin Ian Jeffery

God gave His cherished son, the Lord Jesus Christ
Sacred spirit who suffered for Mankind's salvation
As sacrificial lamb dying to save the faithful
From temptations and bribes from the Devil.
Judas betrayed Jesus to High priest's guards with a kiss
Rewarded with thirty pieces of silver for his infamy.
Jesus handed to the Romans for trial and death
Whipped and crowned with thorns, nailed to a cross
Crucified between two thieves as common criminal
Called out to God to forgive his executioners.
Died and entombed and on the third day
Rose from the dead and met with his disciples.
After forty days ascended to His Father in Heaven
Promising all who believe in him will never die.
