Christ Has Come Again Poem by Ros Venn

Christ Has Come Again

Some say this was my choice,
I did not see a choice,
In that I decided to stay,
Oh, thank heaven, let's pray,
The lord has come for five,
To ten minutes they'll survive,
Shall I help you with the cross?
Please, let's not gloss,
Over the fact of my action,
It comes from a delayed reaction,
Always in the name of the Father,
Is that what we all think to bother,
What happened to the Mother?
I suppose we'll leave to smother,
Yes, smother her with joy,
What else could you employ,
Stand upon our table,
That's if you're able,
It was built with ten legs,
All cut to different pegs,
Some are cut short,
They won't stand in court
The long ones take the brunt,
I don't mean to sound so up front,
Have you tried to get blood from a stone?
