Choice? Poem by Christopher Cariad

Choice?

Rating: 4.0

I choose to be hated, instead of loved.
To be rejected, instead of accepted.
Individuality,
Rather than being a part of the crowd.
I choose to be me, instead of a lie.
To be real
Instead of fake.
I choose pain
Instead of joy.

I choose it!

As you probably notice,
These choices no man would
Like to have thrust upon them.
If it was up to me
I'd be different,
Away from all the hate and disgrace
That my stigmas have provided.
Make a world where all
Are loved and accepted
For their differences in opinion
And values.
A world free to choose.

A world that is free to be.
