nice poem. i really don't know what goes on in the animal's minds, they do seem to have feelings and grieve, and suffer from separation anxiety. but you are right we just can't accept what is.these days i am really stuggling with it, and sometimes i don't want to think or feel anything and just withdraw to my inner core where their is silence, i think i am overcome with sadness.

the lines help the reader to understand the psyche of animals..and we understand the value of our life keeping the animal's life in the background.... they just live in present..and we struggle in present always dreaming about future etc...thought provoking theme...well composed.

You are absolutelu correct.Animals are not subjected to any choise and they just live in present. These things make them different from human beings.I have stated the same idea in my poem-Intellect: A Forbidden Fruit.Plz read it.
