I played in a chess tournament today.
Against the lowest-rated player,
I could only manage a draw.
I only won two games, and
After the tournament was rated,
I lost one point on my chess rating.
Yet life is funny. Since the tournament
was only three rounds, and I lost no games,
I took first place in the tournament!
Hank's only loss was to Tom.
Tom's only loss was to Nate.
Nate lost to both Hank and to me.
It helps to have pluck,
but sometimes you need luck!
Congratulations on taking 1st place! ! Great way to start the year! ! Looking forward to going over your win over Nathan. I have added this to My Poem List, and of course another " 10" ...
Congratulations for the win! ! ! However I have a bit of a headache because it reads like a logic problem! ! ! I used to do logic problems but these days II cannot think my way out of a paper bag! ! ! Delightful twisty turny poem, dear Kim 10
You used to do logic problems? I used to write them! Decades ago I sold maybe a half dozen of them to Dell Publishing Company. They were published in their puzzle magazines.
This poem has not been translated into any other language yet.
