Check Up, From The Neck Up Poem by Mervyn Graham

Check Up, From The Neck Up

In the chambers of thought, where mysteries hide,
Where dreams take flight and fears abide,
There lies a realm, both vast and deep,
A kingdom of mind, where dark secrets keep.

A check-up, from the neck up, we embark,
To delve into the labyrinth, to light the dark.
With introspection's lantern, we sail,
Through our tangled webs of fate.

In the corridors of memory, we roam,
Tracing paths, both near and unknown.
We sift through echoes of laughter and pain,
Seeking clarity, amidst the brain's terrain.

Each thought a star in the cosmic expanse,
Each emotion a river, in this mental dance.
We confront the shadows, we face the light,
In the realm of the mind, where truths take flight.

So let us heed the call, to reflect and explore,
To understand the self, to seek something more.
For in the check-up, from the neck up, we find,
The essence of being, the soul of humankind.
