Chateau D'eau

It probably wasn't
that a French wit/rhymer
envisaged a water tower as a chateau
and named one un chateau d'eau.

Water was first
probably kept
in a tank on top of a hill,
not in a tower at all.

For the insight,
a french wit/rhymer
probably had to thank
such a hill-top tank.
