I took the title of this poem Chasing the Wind from Ecclesiastes 2: 10-11as it seems s hard, almost meaningless, to fight authorities as they are so elusive regarding things that should be banned like glyphosates, or even gun laws as someone pointed out.

Even today, children are born to affected parents, with serious deformities.

What happened to the insects, flora and fauna, nobody has researched. But human beings are affected. The air they breath is poisonous even today. So is the water they drink.

A similar crime was perpetrated on the people of Enmagaje, in Kasargod District of Kerala. The government owned Cashew Plantation Corporation used the pesticide Endosulphan even after its use was banned all over the world.

Governments are really stubborn in some matters. But I am sure you will keep working on your cause. Sooner or later someone will listen.

This beautiful poem is ranked # 14 in the Best Poems of Members. But, mind you, only Chinedu Dike and I are poets active on the site today, among the first 13 poets. Why does this happen? Poets who are not active on the site are given more space?

This poem sharing our concern for the fauna species facing extinction, is now ranked #11, overtaking my poem "Expression of Soul", pushing it back to position #12. Congratulations David. As recognised by ph, this is far better a poem than mine. Great!

A powerful and thoughtful write. Liked the title, an eyecatcher. We must be vigilant in fighting against the abuses committed by those who are in power. In our own little way, we could ignite people to make a change for the good of all.

The environment, climate change, gun rights, human rights abuses. We are all betrayed by those in power who are in power for powers sake
