Charity Rose Charity Rose
The Plague of Hearts where ever she goes.
As pearls of Love flowed out the pen
In Billet-Douxs from helpless Men,
But she moved on to Victims new
For dear old Rose is never true.
Now Martin Lee it must be said
Would seize her hand in being Wed,
Upon his knee all faith declared
Was ever a passion ardently bared,
But she moved on to Victims new
For dear old Rose is never true.
When Simon Wilde would quote the Bard
That golden verse of Loves regard,
He'd serenade her Noon till Night
And hope the flames of Love ignite,
But she moved on to Victims new
For dear old Rose is never true.
Oh Harry Law that pious gent
Would say her Spirit was Heaven sent,
The Wife and Home he'd cast away
A fevered Lamb now led astray,
But she moved on to Victims new
For dear old Rose is never true.
To Bachelor Bob no Cupid's Bow
For the Path of Love is Paved with Woe,
But a Loreley's wiles are Tidal strong
And a blinkered man had heard her song,
But she moved on to Victims new
For dear old Rose is never true.
So a word to the Wise it must be said
For the weakest of Wills are easily led.
If chanced upon a pair of soft eyes
A beguiling smile to Hypnotise,
She'll just move on to Victims new
For dear old Rose is never true.
