Chantal Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

Chantal

Rating: 5.0

It was you all along
Telling me that I would be nothing
With yr fur coat and red lipstick
Always wanted something for nothing
But I know you were like that
You used me like the others
And when I asked for payment
You said I wasn't any good
We weren't even acquaintances
I don't know why I am talking to you
Because I learned to forgive
But I'll be damn if I ever forget

Such a great realistic tone, feels as if we were present, images anger and all. A well conceived, great poem, wearing a dramatic and poetic shawl. Loved It!

LeeAnn, your poem is sweet revenge and poetic justice! Chantal is probably being lambasted by animal rights activists. Meanwhile, you're being praised for your poetry. And for your forgiveness.

My dear LeeAnn, this is crystal clear and fascinatingly composed, I thought I was with you, you phrased your poem in such a vivid tone, and I feel like I was with you.
