Chant Poem by Clive Culverhouse

Chant

dude, by eastern tide
bang your drum
skin sound
like carcasses in the rain
stretched over lifetimes

dude, pluck the tongue
and harp ‘til dawn

like talk among the trees
hear them
hear them
whisper down the halls
of leaves
