If God were a man, he might descend on earth,
open shop down here,
like all the other fellows do,
charge his tokens for his rays of sun

I had trouble grasping the full intent of your verses but I think I got the idea. I agree that this could be a better world if man simply became fully human in the true sense of the word which, in my view, means being as much like the good God we want to believe in; in other words, using our intellects and free wills to figure out what is best for all and to want everyone to enjoy it through voluntary sharing and genuine concern for each other. If our faith is true we already have a God who became Man and we already can become Godlike in a supernatural way. Why have we not achieved all of this then? Part of the answer is that we are not robots and that God does not interfere in our lives in such a way as to rob us of our free choices. I think you agree that this is not what we want. Time is part of the equation too. We need more time, but I don’t know how much. Some individuals have, no doubt, achieved the desired state, but mankind as mankind still has a long way to go; consequently, I don’t expect any extinction of the human species too soon in the future. Our God is evidently very patient, despite the story of the flood, and we need to be patient too as part of our Sitz im Leben. As you say, the God who became Man was just like one of the fellows and many did not notice. We are just too much like animals and not enough like humans. So we go on hoping and hopefully trying to improve our animality
What an amazing outlook you have, your thoughts have believability and speak in so many ways that astounds me. Your an outstanding writer, thanks for sharing. all the very best Jon
man playing god and god playing man are interesting subjects...well handled Erhard
Your perceptions of God as a Man is quite metaphor.Well if God is a Man, then the women gonna love it.And this universe would be the most pleasant place to live. Keep it up, buddy.
A thought provoking poem indeed. God created all creatures including man, but he gave the sixth sense to man only, to think what is good and bad and then act. The other creatures go by their instinct. God lives in the heart of man and he tells the man not to do bad, but do only good things. It is the man who shuts the doors of his heart and does whatever he likes to do-both good and bad things. For every action there is a reaction. If he does good, the result is good. If he does bad, the result is bad, .like the proverb 'If you sow corn and you will reap corn'. This is so simple to understand and avoid bad action in one's life.
Its clever, daring, sensitive and absoloutly divane all at the same time.....you have a really creative mind..This poem is brilliant..I have read it several times...Wishing you a joyful day Pia
More than just this one write...this watch man walks with a walk so divine! Oh, such inner beauty! SUCH INNER BEAUTY!
You have deep thoughts my friend, you could contemplate with the best. You have addressed and stated you point with a pen of depth.
His spheres with unfailing robots of good luck, alive only, to be fading away with boredom of existence....i liked these lines...sorrow makes joy sweeter...till God reads your poem and decides to abolish money...how about sending me the money you dont like? ...lol...this poem is very good...a poem is more interesting to read than prose...you have progressed very smoothly in the poem to state your point...a full 10 from me...nalini
free flow of all the 'give & take', great line, Erhard, im not sure what i think about the poem?
If man were God he would have power and mystic and majesty, none to be above him, exercising the parental wisdom of time and slow understanding, would this status benefit or overwhelm the fragile human-god? a thought beyond imagining, thanks
