I can feel the fire begin to burn within
Something has awakened and will take no more
For too long I've been sick by hope so thin
That it feels I'm way too far off from the shore
The angels that once had filled my skies
Have been burned by my flaming hands
All roads that could have lead to such surprise
Have fallen away like castles made of sand
With nothing left to lose
I throw all caution to the wind
These skies will open for the stars to shine
Shedding my broken skin, the day shall be mine
There is a change in the wind for me
And I will rise to take it all back this time
Rain will run down my face where black circles reside
I will silence all these haunting thoughts and reclaim the night
Rest the mind that never comes to a moments stop
Expelling all those demons that I'm bringing to the top
Soothe the skin that has been burned for years
By the trials of life and my own damning fingers
Caressed by the darkness thats only fed my fears
I want to turn the mirrored glass into a thousand splinters
Day by day I need to be better than before
A brand new version of the this simple old man
