Breathtaking imagery, ignites the imagination, the opening lines are solid as gold, Tagore professes his love for his mother that is eternally endearing to last a thousand lifetimes. So glad this was chosen as poem of the day

I never had opportunity to read Ravindranath Tagore's poems. This is my first one. No doubt because of his such Gracious poems he got nobel prize for his book 'Gitanjali'.

The pearls represent his sorrow and fear for the future on his mother neck. Maybe to represent letting it go?

Human being trying to make itself wholly perfect and beautiful with truthful and dedicated life is a wonderful thing to imagine. Here the gurudev Rabindranatha Tagore writes about his offering of pearl chain which made by the tears as the pearl and submits himself to the allmighty. Wonderfully written.
