Central Park Blues Poem by T.L. Toadvine

Central Park Blues

After the rains came down
I was drownded to the bone

Turned around to find you
But i was standin' there alone

Down at the Bethesda Fountain
A long, long way from home

I didn't have
John Lennon
To show me the way

Back to those
Strawberry Fields
For a taste of Yesterday

All i really needed
Was a taste of you

Walkin' barefoot
Beside me
Through the mornin' dew

Those big black rocks
Sparkle in the midday sun

Kinda like some magic
When the dreamin's done

You're Central to my heart
Each and everyday

Central to my dreams
In each and every way

Got me some Central Park Blues
And it looks like
They're here to stay
