Central Baptist Church Poem by Randy McClave

Central Baptist Church

I miss going to church
And seeing the people there,
I miss my friends and family
As we talk to our father in prayer.
I miss listening to pastor Rob
As he preaches to us simple folks,
I also enjoy the nodding heads
When he tells one of his unhumorous jokes.
I miss speaking to Peggy
And also to her husband Ed,
I too enjoy listening to their stories
And where their many roads have led.
At my table I never sit alone
I always share it with Amber and Renee',
Amber picks arguments and fights
While Renee' always has us to pray.
And then there is Hannah and Suzanna
Along with Sidney and Ben,
They sit and chatter at the young adults table
Where they hear about our sin.
Then there is Bambi and her family
Linda, Deloris and Little Gabe,
4 generations worshiping together
And hopefully everyone is saved.
And always there at the church
Is John, Richard, Ray, Paul and George,
And whenever I speak or watch any of them
There is never any distance of a gorge.
I truly miss going to church
At home now I am all alone and maroon,
But, nothing is a forever
And back to church, I will be returning soon.
