Celestial Fire! Poem by Jonathan H. Scott

From out of chaos comes the dawn of time,
And sweeping ‘cross the universe, the stars
With perfect force of energy sublime—
The twinkling passion of the gods is ours.

To comprehend the whole is not to be,
So large the void expanding into space—
Indeed! bedazzles all with eyes to see,
At once it will explode without a trace!

Magnificent—the black sapphire of night
With diamonds studded clear beyond all bounds,
And gemstones shining eons worth of light—
Dark matter is what everything surrounds.

Set finely in the plasma of dark space,
Each cosmic jewel with facets all aglow—
And everything and nothing in its place;
Perfection thus is what the gods bestow.

Then, suddenly! a brilliant shooting star
That quickly moves to passion and desire!
Emotions overwhelmed that reach the bar,
And splendor now is known— Celestial Fire!
