Cease-Fire Poem by ANJANDEV ROY

Cease-Fire

Cease-fire now,
The world rests in peace after a long time,
The innocent man sleeps in perfect bliss,
Free from anxiety, away from fear and torment.
He dreams a heaven on this earth,
The sky is perfectly azure this day,
The birds sing with great ease and comfort,
The water of the sweet stream goes with the full flow
And the gentle breeze soothes everything.
But the lovely spell does not last long,
The man wakes up anxiously,
As he hears the firing of the fierce guns outside,
It's all over;
Frustration and despair wraps up the world again,
Peace and happiness is buried in the deep grave again.
