Once upon a midnight dreary, while I slumbered, tired and weary,
Dreaming of opening my own ice cream store,
While I snored there, plans a-hatching, suddenly there came a scratching,
Some small creature gently scratching, scratching at my bedroom door.

Very nice poem, and a cute cat. I seem to have missed some of your cat poems. I will check them out.
It just occurred to me. OK, i guess it wasn't reminiscent of Lenore (except the name Lenore) , but of The Raven....nevermore (or was it never more?) :) :) Mary-aka-Bri i never claimed to be a poetry expert! and the 'comments about cats (in the style of Bri Edwards) ain't bad, but it is a drip compared to this ocean, just like i (maybe) am a drip compared to Poe! .
And the only word there spoken was the whispered word, 'Meeeooowr! ' ........... this caused a 1/2 chuckle! [well, I’ve come back to this line of my comment, after ending my reading. I was proofreading my comment and NOW noticed that I DID miss the “r” at the first use of ‘Meeeooowr! ’. ok, Lenore/meeeooowr, right? so I probably would have chuckled more if I’d read it correctly.] i have cousin who i THINK will adore this, though i haven't read the whole thing yet! the cat doesn't end up with its heart beneath the floorboards, does it? ? and to MyPoemList for sure. NOW, before i forget. “Had a funny-looking hat on; face looked like it had been sat on.” ….. ¾ chuckle, but it deserved MORE! and the photo, accompanying, is a gem, especially with this line. “'Meeeooowr! ' “ ……………….. I almost missed noticing the “r”. this shall be one of my all-time favorites (poems) , even though we shoot cats around here. Cats really aren’t all THAT bad ………….., with catsup. Mary-aka-Bri :) :)
I am impressed and wildly entertained (Wes not Donna)
Am now forced to read The Raven.
