Catch A Mouse! Poem by Unnikrishnan Sivasankara Menon

Catch A Mouse!

Rating: 5.0

"Catch a mouse! Catch a mouse!
There is plenty in the house,
O' Tiny, my tiny little kitten
If by hunger, you are bitten!
Or, run out and catch a sparrow! "

"Not now, not now,
I'll make it tomorrow."

Catch A Mouse!
POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This is the third nursery rhyme for my grad daughter, yet to be born!
COMMENTS OF THE POEM

This is the fault of domestication of wild animals. We, the human beings are at fault too. We feed them to their fill and still expect them to "catch a mouse". What for? The animals hunt for their food. They find no need for hunting when they have their tummies full

"I will catch a mouse tomorrow, if the mouse doesn't catch me before that. In the meantime let me take rest." Says Tiny
