Catalina Poem by Patrick Fealy

Catalina

Come to see my island
just across the sea
a day dream far from trials
come dream along with me
just o'er the horizon
not so far from home
I'll show you all my treasure there
where the buffalo still roam
racing with the dolphins
Leaping o'er the waves
to a land of make-believe
where sea gulls go to play
Shipwrecked like two children
upon an emerald isle
Strolling in the morning
where time can not beguile
Walking on the shoreline
where sunsets never end
come with me my darling
Let us be the best of friends
Evening cast's its mantle
That brings comfort to the breast
Echoing the laughter
a rumble in the nest
Sea birds in the morning
Like there have always been
Looking at my lady
more lovely than a queen
like so many dreamers
strolling hand in hand
Thinking of tomorow
from the promised land
Come with me my lady
To dream is not to sin
Let there be a memory
where new life will begin
