Castles In The Sky Poem by Bill Cantrell

Castles In The Sky

Rating: 5.0

While many are standing the test of time,
most castles have crumbled down to the sea
Yet mine floats high in the cobalt sky
It's shade gives no comfort to me

The queen of all my dreams is waiting
By the gods, I swear, I shall learn how to fly
As a moat, the thick clouds surround it,
as the sun sips the oceans, I will drink the clouds dry

The brown bat snatches the fluttering moth
cheating the spider in the flash of a turn
In spite of of being afraid of such frights,
from both I shall study and learn

Yes, my castle drifts in the cobalt sky,
enchantingly held by a thread from the moon
Seemingly, a haven beyond any prayer,
Somehow, some day I will meet you there
