A charming poem about children and movement and the passion for accomplishment. The children at my studio all 'do cartwheels' - something of a rite of passage. We begin with 'donkey kicks' on the podium when they are small, then they learn to cartwheel by copy the big kids. They practise at home too, over and over. I can still do cartwheels, by the way, at 62. The children think it's really cool. Perhaps I inspire them a little. I hope so. A wonderful poem oozing with a grandmother's love. Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
I love this Margery - am almost dizzy after reading it! brought back wonderful memories of cartwheeling across the park - carefree times...'downside up she turns around' - brilliant! A visual treat that conveys the movement and freedom of childhood...justine x
