Capitalism Triumphant Poem by Mary Champion

Capitalism Triumphant

In this fully mechanised factory
a fully mechanised production line
assembles Robots -

Home assistant robots
to dust and clean,
to do the laundry,
prepare the meals,
make the beds,
put out the garbage.

Every house -
home to the unemployed -
must have one
or more.
Home assistant robots -
now even that chore is mechanised.
Every home
run by robots,
every person replaced by robots,
every person without use or purpose.

These robots,
programmed to deal with outworn artefacts,
useless articles,
will know what to do -
put out the garbage!
Garbage to be collected by robot refuse collectors.
Can't even be recycled
flesh and blood are now redundant -
merely fodder for carrion crows.
