I don't mean to hurt people
It just happens by the way
Life keeps playing tricks on me
And leading me astray

If something unexpected
Happened to us now
I could not forgive myself
Because I made a vow

Shattered dreams and broken hearts
This can not be fixed
Though we should start over
My feelings, they are mixed

Can we keep it up so long
Save a love that never began
Can we tell the right from wrong
And try it once again?
