Can I Be You Poem by Max D. Hornbogen

Can I Be You

Can I be you, being in your shoes feels differnet then mine. If you had felt the pain that I held inside. Then you would not want to be in my shoes.

So can I be you, feeling the pain nearly tore me apart from the inside. But recently I've known you, for some time now.

Do you think, you can take my place and see what I see? . I wish that I was there with you, saying goodbye was the hardest thing to do.

But if you were in my shoes, would you set a different path on the road of life.
Every candle was lit, as I was standing near you. When everything was done
the flame was blown out.

Now and then I would cry for you, seeing your picture brings me pain even more.
The more I see it, the more it hurts.
My heart had fallen when you left, there was nothing left for me here.

Do you think, god could give me another chance? . A chance to start something new.
