Callousness. Poem by Nabakishore Dash

Callousness.

Rating: 5.0

Some men, with their axe and
pruning cutter, came to
cut a big tree near a road.
But the scorching heat of the
extreme summer-noon
made them scared.

They rested under the tree
to escape heat,
enjoyed its sweet fruit.
Inhaled the oxygen,
got solace.
Cut the tree in the afternoon,
indicating our callousness.
