Calling Yourself A Christian Poem by Randy McClave

Calling Yourself A Christian

How can you call yourself a Christian
When you smoke and drink,
When you call yourself Christian
I wonder what other people really think.
When you lead your lifestyle,
I wonder who do you really want to smile.

How can you call yourself a Christian
When you lie, break promises and steal,
When you call yourself a Christian
I wonder how do other people truly feel.
To you is it just a proud word,
That maybe once before you had heard.

How can you call yourself a Christian
When you mock the poor and the needy,
When you call yourself a Christian
What do they think when you praise the rich and the greedy.
I wonder what people do say,
When you never help, praise or pray.

How can you call yourself a Christian
When you don't read the Bible, or go to church,
When you call yourself a Christian
In the dictionary for that word do people search.
I wonder if the truth unto you will ever strike,
Being a Christian, is meant to be Christ like.

How can you call yourself a Christian
When you never say your sorry or asked to be forgiven,
When you call yourself a Christian
I wonder if others wonder how your soul is driven.
So please, instead of Christians taking your blame,
Why not just call yourself a different name.
