Inside these walls, where whispers dare not tread,
Time becomes a cruel trick, a weight on my head.
Minutes stretch like years, days blur into one,
A tapestry of gray woven by the absence of the sun.
I remember the world beyond, the laughter and the light,
Where freedom danced on the wind, and the stars shone bright.
But here, the stars are stories told in the dark,
Tales of dreams deferred, of hopes that leave a mark.
The clang of metal, the echo of keys,
A symphony of solitude, a haunting melody.
Voices bounce off the walls, shadows flicker and fade,
A dance of spirits caught in the choices they made.
But within this cage, where silence reigns supreme,
There lies a flicker of resistance, an unyielding dream.
For even in the darkness, where shadows cling tight,
The soul remembers freedom, and yearns for the light.
In the yard, we walk in circles, a human chain,
Tracing the path of our thoughts, through joy and pain.
The sky above, a canvas of unreachable dreams,
Yet each step taken whispers, 'Nothing is as it seems.'
The past is a ghost that lingers, haunting the air,
A mirror reflecting choices made unaware.
Regret is a heavy burden, but it teaches the way,
To find redemption in the promise of a new day.
Here, we learn to listen, to see beyond the veil,
To the stories of the fallen, the forgotten, the frail.
In the shared silence, there is power to be found,
A testament to resilience, where hope knows no bound.
We build castles of thought, towers of reflection,
Finding strength in each other, in connection.
For behind these bars, though the world seems narrow,
The heart finds ways to break through the sorrow.
Hope is the sun that rises in the darkest night,
A whisper of tomorrow, a beacon of light.
And though the cage may hold us, the spirit soars free,
In dreams, in love, in the promise of what will be.
So here we stand, unbroken by time's cruel hands,
In a realm where freedom is a whisper in the sands.
For even in the shadows, we find ways to survive,
In every heartbeat, in every breath, we remain alive.
