Cafe Noir Poem by D.N. Rebb

Cafe Noir

Rating: 5.0

Café noir,
Arouses
Comforting dawn,
Elevates
Shepherd of dreams,
Oversees
Unmade cradle,
Divulges

There's no more tribute left to indite
Caged warblers disentangled despite
Ranked infidels lacking an invite
Yet imbeciles on a plinth o' height

It's all over,
Renegade
Turbinate moon,
Demonstrates
Dull guillotine,
Conditions
Unknown future,
Challenges

Insipid porridge feeds the hungry
Expectancy in color of grey
Simple vocabulary, so free
Seeking for unprecedented countries

Waivable stand,
Diffuses
Awkward silence,
Mirages
Dark enigma,
Relishes
Café noir,
Arouses

The world is getting closer to some pre-written prediction. Might as well enjoy your coffee black while we wait.

One of your very best, D.N.! Although the poem is somewhat fatalistic in tone, I love you ending it on a positive note. You've given us a shot of espresso right into our hearts!
